What you'll learn:

In this program the presenter will provide an overview of providing gender affirming therapy for transgender gender expansive clients. The presenter will review foundational concepts and terminology, discuss the impact societal stigma and discrimination has on the mental health of gender diverse individuals, have attendees reflect on their own gender identities, implicit biases and assumptions and examine professional competencies and established guidelines of working with these communities. The presenter will conclude by discussing how to provide affirming clinical assessment, using a variety of therapeutic tools and techniques to help clients process their gender experience and helping clients navigate transition and providing care coordination.
