Stacey Gardner

My name is Stacey Gardner.  Everyone experiences challenges at times for various reasons  as we navigate life. It is my belief that therapy can be an effective tool to help individuals process and improve areas which may be preventing them from living life to the fullest potential. I strive to meet clients where they are at in their journey of self-exploration. It is not my role to solve problems, rather empower clients to gain insight and use strengths to overcome life’s challenges. In a collaborative environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood, they can truly gain insight and learn skills in which to thrive.

I utilize a variety of counseling theories and approaches that best suit clients and their individual goals. I am grounded in an attachment and a person-centered style and regularly utilize cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapeutic strategies. I have a passion for working with teens and adults struggling with ADHD and family members of children with neurodevelopmental disorders and other special needs. As a veteran, I enjoy working with current and past military members and their family members. Whatever reasons bring you to seek counseling, together we will explore and identify effective individual coping strategies.

My career as a counselor was not a straightforward path. My own personal growth and personal insight led and inspired me to pursue this path. As a therapist, I feel honored to work with clients in need of support. I am an Alabama Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Emily Eichhorn, LPC-S. I am also recognized as a National Certified Counselor from the National Board for Certified Counselors. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and Master of Public Health from Wright State University. I am also a registered nurse and graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
