Stacey Gardner

My name is Stacey Gardner.  Everyone experiences challenges at times for various reasons as we navigate life. I believe therapy can be an effective tool to help individuals process and improve areas which may be preventing them from living life to the fullest potential. I strive to meet clients where they are at in their journey of self-exploration. It is not my role to solve problems, rather empower clients to gain insight and use strengths to overcome life’s challenges. In a collaborative environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood, they can truly gain insight and learn skills in which to thrive.

I utilize a variety of counseling theories and approaches that best suit clients and their individual goals. I am grounded in an attachment and a person-centered style and regularly utilize cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapeutic strategies. I also am trained and approved to provide EMDR therapy. I have a passion for helping adults with ADHD and parents of children with ADHD navigate the many challenges that comes with ADHD.  As a veteran, I enjoy working with current and past military members and their family members. Whatever reasons bring you to counseling, together we will explore and identify effective individual coping strategies.

My decision to be a counselor was not straightforward. My own personal growth and personal insight led and inspired me to pursue this path. As a therapist, I feel honored to work with clients in need of support. I am an Alabama Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Louisa DiLeone, LPC-S. I am recognized as a National Certified Counselor from the National Board for Certified Counselors and a ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider through Evergreen Certifications. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and Master of Public Health from Wright State University. I am also a registered nurse and graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
